Adults Employers Part-TimeThe qualification is for those aspiring to want to work as part of a schools work force. Candidates should be looking to gain a placement in a school environment, aiming to complete a mandatory 120 hours placement as a minimum to ensure that they develop and evidence sufficiently their skills in the workplace.
The NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning is a competence-based qualification. This course will give you the skills and knowledge specifically for working within a school sector.
You will study units including:
At least 1 GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in English or maths. Functional Skills Level 2 or ESOL Level 2 would be acceptable equivalents to a GCSE grade 4.
3 further GCSEs at Grade 3 (D) or higher. Functional Skills Level 1 or ESOL Level 1 would be acceptable equivalents to a GCSE grade 3.

Depending on your age, course, educational history and personal circumstances, there may be options available for you to receive a course fully-funded by the government. Our fee calculator will help give you an idea on whether you'll be able to have your course fee waived or covered by an Advanced Learner Loan.
If you are aged 19 - 24 at the start of your course and have an active Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP), any course up to and including level 3 will be fully-funded by the government. This means you will not have a course fee to pay and any equipment considered essential to complete your course will be provided by the college.
NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning (qualification aim: 60324764)
The course is both theoretical and practical and is assessed within college and a relevant educational setting (typically one day per week in workplace environment).
You will be assessed using a variety of methods including written tasks, poster presentations, as well as observations in the workplace.
