Adults Part-TimeExplore the power of effective communication and teamwork within the health and social care sector with our new Communication for Caring Careers course.
If you are looking to transition into a caring career or develop your skills in your current paid or voluntary role, this is the course for you.
Over ten weeks, you will work towards a Level 2 Award in Employability Skills a great addition to your CV or job application. The qualification will cover two units looking at different types of communication in the workplace and working in a team. There will be a range of interesting activities throughout to explore different types of communication, as well as a variety of team building exercises. Towards the end of the course, you will get the chance to have a go at various practical skills that are used within the health and social care sector. There will also be chances for personal development including developing your professional voice, study skills, managing stress, building resilience and self-awareness, which you can take into your future. You will have access to our expert careers mentors who can help you look at career planning, next steps in education, building your CV, and top tips for applications and interviews.
You must be aged 19 or over to study this course.

The course will be held at the Kings Lynn campus every Tuesday for ten weeks starting on Tuesday 6th May (with a break for May half term), finishing on Tuesday 15th June. The teaching day will run from 9:00 -15:00 with additional support and tutorial time available from 15:00 - 16:00 each week.

The course will be free to the majority of students, but if you haven't lived in the UK for 3+ years you are likely to have fees of £270
Depending on your age, course, educational history and personal circumstances, there may be options available for you to receive a course fully-funded by the government. Our fee calculator will help give you an idea on whether you'll be able to have your course fee waived or covered by an Advanced Learner Loan.
If you are aged 19 - 24 at the start of your course and have an active Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP), any course up to and including level 3 will be fully-funded by the government. This means you will not have a course fee to pay and any equipment considered essential to complete your course will be provided by the college.
GATEWAY Award in Employability Skills Level 2
Throughout the course you will work towards completing a workbook and different tasks to demonstrate your learning. You will also be observed during some of the activities that take place. There are no exams for this qualification, so attendance and participation are key.
