Dog Grooming - Level 2 (Certificate) - Part-time

The programme content includes:

• Prepare and groom dogs prior to bathing
• Bathing and clean dogs
• Dry dogs and prepare a dog for styling
• Carry out trimming of a dogs coat to prepare for styling
• Move and Lift dogs
• Maintain the cleanliness and biosecurity grooming environment
• Professional Conduct
• Introduction to anatomical features, breed characteristics and behaviour of dogs
• Observation skills
• Checking the health and wellbeing of dogs
• Practical use of dog grooming equipment
• Customer Care

What day will the course be running?

• The course will run for one full day a week

-Grade 3 (or equivalent) in English, Maths, or Science

or

-Level 2 in an Animal Care related qualified

You will need experience with working with dogs. You will be invited to an information session to help us ensure the course is right for you.

This course is specifically for adult learners aged 19+

How many hours / days per week is this course?

This course will run from 9am - 3pm one day per week. You can choose your preferred day depending on your campus (subject to availability as class sizes are capped): - Cambridge campus: Monday or Friday - Wisbech campus: Wednesday or Friday

Learners with an active Education, Health & Care Plan

If you are aged 19 - 24 at the start of your course and have an active Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP), any course up to and including level 3 will be fully-funded by the government. This means you will not have a course fee to pay and any equipment considered essential to complete your course will be provided by the college.
