Early Years Educator - Apprenticeship - Level 3
The broad purpose of the occupation is to provide high quality early education and care to children.
Through an evidence based approach, they provide opportunities and learning experiences for all children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Early years educators follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements set by government for the learning, development, and care of children from birth to 5 in both indoor and outdoor environments.
The course covers how to be responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for children's learning.
Employees will ensure that the learning environment and provision is inclusive and supports all children, and demonstrate a clear understand of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Early years educator's teach and facilitate children's learning play. They apply the observation, assessment, and planning cycle to support progress and children's development. - - An early years educator will act as the key person for one or more children within their setting. They may play a leadership role within the setting or may act under the supervision of a manager.
GCSE grade 4 in English and maths is preferable but not essential.
An interview and Initial assessments will be carried out to determine suitability to work at this level.
You should hold a suitable level 2 childcare qualification and/or have recent relevant experience working in a childcare setting.
You must be in a job role that provides the opportunity to carry out supervisory tasks.
Your job role should be for at least 30 hrs per week, although we can consider part time roles.

How many hours / days per week is this course?
Flexible but you need an employer to commence the apprenticeship. You will required to attend monthly group online training sessions throughout the course.
You will build an e-portfolio of evidence and will be assessed in the workplace using a range of methods, for example written assignments, case study work, reflective accounts and practical observation etc.
An Assessor will visit you in the workplace on a regular basis in order to support you.
The end point assessment is carried out by an independent and impartial assessor and includes: an observation with questions and a professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
