College of West Anglia is White Ribbon Accredited, committing to working towards ending violence against women and girls.
College of West Anglia (CWA) is committed to working towards ending men’s violence against women by becoming White Ribbon Accredited, aligning with White Ribbon UK, the leading charity engaging men and boys to end violence against women.
This was launched by principal David Pomfret and the senior leadership team at CWA who declared their support and started the process of raising awareness of this serious issue. CWA have formed a cross college steering group to drive forward this initiative and are currently in the process of planning further activities as part of an action plan.
Anthea Sully, Chief Executive of White Ribbon UK said:
“White Ribbon Accredited Organisations can make a real difference towards ending violence against women by promoting a culture of respect and equality among their staff and wider communities. By raising awareness among employees, people can learn how to become allies and call out violent and abusive behaviour when they see it. We are delighted to welcome College of West Anglia as one of our White Ribbon Accredited Organisations and are looking forward to working with them towards ending violence against women once and for all”
David Pomfret, Principal at CWA said:
“I am proud to lead this initiative for the college and it is really important that we raise awareness through engaging men and boys to end violence against women and girls."
