Inclusive Learning
School Leaver / 16 - 18 yr Old Vocational CoursesThis course is part of the Bridge to Independence series, offering further education programs tailored for students facing severe learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
If you are a young adult with the potential to progress, the enthusiasm to continue learning and the willingness to work on your independent living skills, this course may be the right call.
The nationally recognised qualification gained is structured to allow you access to a curriculum which develops your skills and knowledge in areas such as cooking and shopping for yourself, travelling independently through the TITAN programme and an additional qualification in English and Maths.
There are no formal entry requirements but learners are expected to show a positive attitude to learning. An initial interview visit is followed by a taster session. This provides an opportunity to assess whether the course will be able to meet the needs of the learner.

Information on Fees and Financial Help
Depending on your age, course, educational history and personal circumstances, there may be options available for you to receive a course fully-funded by the government. Our fee calculator will help give you an idea on whether you'll be able to have your course fee waived or covered by an Advanced Learner Loan.
If you are aged 19 - 24 at the start of your course and have an active Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP), any course up to and including level 3 will be fully-funded by the government. This means you will not have a course fee to pay and any equipment considered essential to complete your course will be provided by the college.

Assessment is ongoing and consistent throughout the academic year, this is evident via an initial screening process and then regularly via Learn.
Learners are assessed on an individual basis by the tutor and through the verification of completed portfolio units. Learn allows for the learner to log in and view their progress and targets so they are always aware of their achievement to date.
Three progress reviews and regular staff meetings ensure that the assessment and review process continues to map individual progression.
