School Leaver / 16 - 18 yr Old Employers ApprenticeshipsAs an apprentice hair professional you will be able to shampoo and condition hair, cut hair using a range of techniques, style and finish hair to create variety of looks, colour and lighten hair for ladies and men.
Hair Professionals must be able to work with all hair types ranging from straight hair to very curly, wiry hair. They also need to be able to carry out consultations with clients, demonstrate the professionalism, values, behaviours, communication skills and safe working practices associated with their role and be able to work without supervision to a high level of precision, with exceptional client care skills.
On this apprenticeship, you will study the following units, all which will be reviewed through the apprenticeship but also in your end-point assessment:
Off-the-job training is defined as learning which is undertaken outside of the normal day-to-day working environment, forms part of their working week and leads towards the achievement of an apprenticeship. This can include training that is delivered at the apprentices normal place of work but must not be delivered as part of their normal working duties. The majority of the course will take place with the employer but you will be expected to attend our King's Lynn campus one day per week.
An interview will be required to identify your potential, commitment and motivation to achieve the apprenticeship. We will also use the interview as an opportunity to discuss your employer. Depending on your level of English and Maths, you may be asked to complete an initial assessment to show your ability to complete a further level 2 qualification in English and / or Maths.

The majority of this apprenticeship will take place at the workplace. You will attend college one day per week on day release at our King's Lynn campus.
During the apprenticeship, your employer and assessor will be looking for continual development of skills, knowledge and behaviours to ensure that you are working towards meeting the requirements of each unit.
You will complete an end-point assessment at the end of your apprenticeship. This will be a practical assessment and an interview / discussion. This will assess your professionalism, values, behaviours, communication, safe working practices and consultation skills.
