Desmond heard about the skills bootcamp from a friend and the College website. He wanted to try something different, having a go at engineering and welding specifically.

He said, “I am already employed, but I’m looking to change my career, so I decided to give this a shot and see. Surprisingly, I found out about something I didn’t think of, which was the CAD. My impression of the facilities here is that they are excellent. There’s been quite a lot of machinery I didn’t expect to see here.

After I complete the course, I’m hoping to be able to use this as a stepping board to go into an engineering career. I would say to anyone thinking of doing a skills bootcamp to definitely give it a shot. You’ll be surprised what you do actually learn.”
