Explore the concept of behaviour that challenges, including why people behave the way they do and develop skills to manage challenging behaviour in an appropriate way. Learn the causes and impact of challenging behaviours, providing both an individual or an employer with skills to proactively manage challenges and support positive behaviour. Skills in this provide employment opportunities in Health and Social Care roles as well as providing suitable training for those working in Education.
Unit 1: Understand behaviour that challenges Learn about how behaviour can be perceived as challenging and discover the underlying issues that affect behaviour. Discover the impact challenging behaviour can have on others.
Unit 2: Understand how to support positive behaviour Identify behavioural changes and triggers that may escalate behaviour. Consider strategies and support plans that can promote positive behaviour. Throughout this unit, gain an understanding of legislation that protects the rights of the individual.
Unit 3: Understand the importance of effective communication and the management of behaviour that challenges Develop an understanding of the impact communication can have on the management of behaviour that challenges. Discover how positive reinforcement and other techniques can de-escalate behaviour.
Unit 4: Understand the role of reflection and support for those involved in incidents of behaviour that challenges Learn the importance of reflection following an incident of behaviour that challenges. This unit focuses on understanding the consequences of your actions and how to maintain your own well-being.
