Hospitality Services (Housekeeping Pathway) - Work-based - Level 1

This qualification requires learners to complete a mandatory work/industry placement experience throughout the duration of the qualification, before certification.

What will I study on this course?

Mandatory Units as follows - 18 Credits:

• Maintain a safe, hygienic and secure working environment
• Work effectively as part of a hospitality team

Optional units as follows:

• Receive, move and store customer and organisation property
• Service public areas at front of house
• Collect linen and make beds
• Service bathrooms and toilets

You must be aged 19 or over in the previous academic year to access this course.

It would be advantageous to have some recent, relevant experience within this sector, but it is not essential.

You must be in a paid or voluntary role in a suitable workplace setting for 10 hours a week.

You will ideally hold a grade 4 or above in English but it is not essential. An assessment may be carried out to determine suitability if you do not hold this qualification.

You must meet certain eligibility requirements to be funded for this qualification. You can obtain funding through the Adult Skills Fund. More details can be provided on application.

Delivery is remote and flexible. There is no mandatory attendance in college for this course as it is work based.
