A front of house receptionist is a person who works at the front desk of an office or business to greet visitors and handle inquiries. They may also be responsible for taking messages, answering phones, and liaising with staff and clients.

Course Description
This qualification requires learners to complete a mandatory work/industry placement experience throughout the duration of the qualification, before certification.
What will I study on this course?
Mandatory Units as follows - 37 Credits:
- Maintain a safe, hygienic and secure working environment
- Work effectively as part of a hospitality team
- Give customers a positive impression of self and your organisation
Optional units as follows:
- Maintain and deal with payments
- Maintain customer service through effective handover
- Resolve customer service problems
- Employment rights and responsibilities in the hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism sector
- Prepare customer accounts and deal with departures
- Store and retrieve information
- Provide reception services
- Deal with bookings
- Deal with the arrival of customers
- Use office equipment

Entry Requirements
You must be aged 19 or over in the previous academic year to access this course.
It would be advantageous to have some recent, relevant experience within this sector, but it is not essential.
You must be in a paid or voluntary role in a suitable workplace setting for 10 hours a week.
You will ideally hold a grade 4 or above in English but it is not essential. An assessment may be carried out to determine suitability if you do not hold this qualification.
You must meet certain eligibility requirements to be funded for this qualification. You can obtain funding through the Adult Skills Fund. More details can be provided on application.
