Welbourn’s of Wisbech Ltd are a commercial vehicle company who specialise in repairs, servicing and nationwide recovery. Rhiannon, their first apprentice, is in her second year of a Customer Service Specialist - Level 3 Apprenticeship and her mentor has now started a Team Leader - Level 3 Apprenticeship.
Rhiannon was employed straight from secondary school which had two benefits for Welbourn: firstly, allowing them to train her to their standards and secondly enabling Rhiannon to learn in a more practical manner.
Employing Rhiannon has given Welbourn’s “a breath of fresh air”. Rhiannon has taken on a vast range of tasks on her own, improving productivity and developing her skills further.
When asked why they would recommend the college to other businesses they said: “First and foremost the support given from the college is immeasurable and the fact they are so close on hand is a huge bonus. The face-to-face time both the apprentice & mentor receive from the college has been a real help, especially as our apprenticeship advisor is always at the end of the phone or email if we have any queries.”
