When I began studying my course, BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies, I wanted to further my understanding of child psychology and practitioner roles. University Centre West Anglia was recommended to me by a colleague, and I was also a former student of CWA.
The main content of this course was primarily understanding the job role of an early years practitioner and what it takes to successfully work with younger children. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at UcWA and I hold a lot of memories with the people on my course. I have never found such a diverse and knowledgeable group of individuals, and that includes the tutors.
I am currently working at a primary school as a SEN Teaching Assistant, who works with the entire year 1 team on improving mental health and behaviour. Studying this course has helped me solidify my position at work and increase my knowledge around working with children.
After completing the course, I am planning to either train to be a class teacher or will take a year out of studies, so that I can develop the skills I have learnt and put them into practice at work.
